The tasks are often so mundane and repetitive, however, that I did frequently question whether these small, congratulatory nuggets were worth the slog they too often turned out to be.

Connors, after all, is the key to studying the symbiote and helping ensure it doesn’t fully possess Peter. Scorpion returns after the first game, but in a more minimalist role. At first, players may be wondering what Kraven’s actual motivation is other than finding the strongest opponent to kill.
We join Miles at this exact point in his life, with family ties straining, friendships facing fresh challenges, and life decisions of genuine importance being posed for the first time. Actor Nadji Jeter displays all the range needed for the role, continuing to excel as a younger Spider-Man maturing before our eyes. He’s in his early twenties so has already navigated the difficult years that Miles finds himself in, but thanks to the symbiote suit, he’s working his way through yet more bodily changes. One area that Insomniac has made improvements in is that Spider-Man 2 offers significantly more in the way of enemy variety, so you’ll no longer be battering the same five balaclava bullies with baseball bats.

In the aftermath, Mary Jane quits the Daily Bugle to run her own podcast and moves in with Peter, who opts to take a break from being Spider-Man to focus on rebuilding the EMF, trusting Miles to protect the city on his own. Meanwhile, Norman blames the Spider-Men for ruining Harry’s recovery; he visits an imprisoned Otto Octavius at the Raft to demand their secret identities, but Octavius refuses, taking glee in Norman’s suffering. Miles completes his college essay and meets Rio’s new boyfriend, Albert Moon, who introduces them to his daughter Cindy.

Miles fights for his life in Kraven’s arena against his worst enemy, as Peter works to track down and free Miles himself. MJ, Harry, and Peter have a heated exchange as Peter fails to recollect the events of the previous evening, and Harry begins to spiral. On a dark rainy night, Kraven’s hunters trigger a brutal rampage from Peter and the Symbiote, so MJ and Miles must do everything they can to wake him up to his actions.
With the emergence of Miles, who becomes his student and potential successor, Peter has hope for a normal future. Miles, on the other hand, struggles to balance the life of a teenager with the heroic activities of Spider-Man and prepares for college entrance.
